Trumark S9 Slingshot
Close up of ammo dispenser!
I didn't really need another slingshot, but the Trumark S9 doesn't cost much. I was curious, and it completes my collection of the three basic Trumark slingshots. I'm not interested in the ones with add on sights, stabilizers...
This one doesn't have a wrist brace which makes it much easier to carry than the WS-1, or even the folding FS-1, both of which have thick wrist braces.
It does have a simple and clever ammo storage dispenser built into the grip. The clear plastic grip simply slides up the frame to allow one round to fall out. Note: It is designed to work with 5/16" ammo only.
Keeping ammo in the grip makes a compact, simple, ready to use package. I like it for keeping a slingshot and ammo handy in a fishing tackle box, my truck... But the ammo makes it heavier, noisier, and I don't find it that easy to get ammo out/use. For hunting I'll keep my ammo in a quiet pocket or pouch.
Trumark uses aluminum for their frames and this bean flipper weighs next to nothing without ammo. It's my new favorite slingshot as far as being handy. But :-( I'm more consistently accurate with a wrist rocket.
The "Chief AJ" slingshots appear to be a Trumark S9 frame in black with a different grip. I like the less shiny black for hunting. If I get better at shooting without the wrist brace I may want one of those.
