Gerber Folding Shovel

This little Gerber Folding Shovel has been a "life saver" at times. No it doesn't do the job of a full size shovel, but it's very compact and easy to carry. It sure beats digging with your hands, a stick, a board, or a knife.
I know because I've used them.

I've used it to clear a few feet of snow ahead of my stuck truck and get moving. To throw some dry dirt under the wheels in mud when I was about to get really stuck. To clear my moms septic drain when she didn't have a shovel... Yuck!

I had a cheap imitation G.I. Shovel before this one the handle broke the second time I used it. I still scooped out snow with the blade, but I vowed to get a good one. This Gerber one seems to be a good quality product especially for the price.

If you've never seen/used one of these you may be surprised how little space they take up. Mine stays in my truck all the time.
