About UsThere was nothing unusual about us, a typical, sometimes dysfunctional family. We lived about three miles north of a small town in North Eastern Texas. 
Dad married "the girl next door". The doors were some distance apart; we lived in the country.
Relatives are still scattered up and down that beautiful old country road.
It wasn't perfect, Dad was a good, honest, man, but with a drinking problem. Mom tried to keep things going. My sister is six years younger, and my brother twelve years younger. I spent a lot of time alone. From an early age I hunted and fished. I didn't want to read at school, but read the outdoor magazines. My graduation, 1965. The Vietnam War was going strong; I joined the Air Force. In the Air Force I became interested in photography. 
It became about 'us' at my last duty in Western Oklahoma. There I met my wife, Sharon. After my discharge we both attended SWOSU. I dropped out to be a professional photographer for the next 20 years. (I took almost all of this site's pictures.) My wife got sick and I had to teach her 4th grade bible-school class. I liked teaching young kids! Back to college and I became a fourth grade school teacher. I've worked with women and kids for over 20 years. That makes me an expert with wildlife! The beginning of "score-your-hunting".Thinking about us, our future, I started looking for something to do when I retire. I was thinking about us, Sharon and I, but I wanted something important to me.Surprisingly, an idea started when a hunter told me about taking his trophy deer. He told about going to a hunting ranch where he was "wined and dined", then he was driven out to a stand where he sat until 'his' big deer came to a feeder. I didn't say much, but it resonated with me! Why would a skilled hunter want to kill a deer that way? I realized how some are obsessed with getting a big deer; it troubled me. 
"Score-Your-Hunting" came slowly. I thought about a club first. "Score-Your-Hunting" could become an organized club someday.A website seemed to make sense, but my thoughts ran into each other: I don't know anything about making a website! I do know photography, hunting, guns, optics... I'm not a good writer! This is an important point: I quickly found that anyone can make a website for very little money. But, most of them are invisible, lost among the millions of websites on the internet. Building a website takes a considerable amount of work. I understand today that I would have wasted my time and built something for them. With SBI I'm building my website and it works. Score-Your-Hunting has good, honest, growing traffic.
